Distillers

Françoise Bovet

Distillerie Absinthe Bovet La Valote

Françoise Bovet carries forward the clandestine absinthe knowledge of her father, Willy Bovet. Since 2010, she has refined that inheritance into absinthes made with precise artisanal craft.

Situated in Môtiers, at the heart of the Val-de-Travers, her distillery embraces the seamless process “from the field to the bottle,” embodying tradition and quality.

Her Prohibition-era stills remain in use today. Each bottle reflects Val-de-Travers heritage, family knowledge, and patient distillation.

Philippe Martin

Distillerie Absinthe La Valote Martin

Meet Philippe Martin, the driving force behind Distillerie Absinthe La Valote Martin, where tradition meets innovation.

Philippe hails from a family legacy of distillers, where both men and women have practiced the art for nearly a century. As he fondly recalls, “I kind of fell into it when I was little.” Having assisted his father with multilingual tours in German and English, Philippe’s journey led him to transition from a multinational corporation to succeeding his father.

In the heart of the Val-de-Travers, Philippe brings a wealth of family expertise to Distillerie Absinthe La Valote Martin. With roots deeply embedded in the distillation tradition, Philippe ensures that each product reflects a century-old legacy while embracing contemporary craftsmanship. The result is absinthe shaped by Philippe’s craft and the Val-de-Travers distilling heritage.

Here, the alchemy begins early, with the winter’s snow crunching beneath your feet, and in the summer, long before the sun graces the sky. It’s a place where the allure of the “blue stuff” beckons thirsty patrons to terrace tastings. This is a genuine distillery from another era, where tradition is present in every carefully crafted drop.
